TO PALILULA
CITIZENS
On the day
August 8
2009 in NKC
– Nis
Cultural
Center, in `Stanoje
Bunusevca`
Street the
public
discussion
will be
held,
starting
from 10 00
hours, with
the aim of
giving the
opinion on
the
proposition
of the
Decision on
local
self-government.

STREETS
ASPHALTING
RESULTS
BLOCKADE
24.07.2009.
Taking off
granite
macadam and
the attempt
of
asphalting
in the end
of the
previous
week in `Nikodije
Stojanovic –Tatko`
Street -
Palilula
municipality
industrial
zone, was
stopped by
the people
living in
this part of
Palilula.
`We are not
dealing here
with the
project was
heard at the
protest
meeting in
the street.
`Water and
sewerage
system in
our part of
the
settlement
is old.
After rains
we have
regular
floods that
put in
danger our
houses and
it is
necessary
first of all
to deal with
this
communal
problem, and
then come to
the pavement
and streets
asphalting.

opposite
way, it will
be totally
wasted

BENCHES AND
GREEN
SURFACES
24.07.2009.
People who
live in `Crvena
zvezda -
part of
Palilula, in
the
residential
buildings
(numbers
1-9) got
three
benches and
newly
adapted
surfaces
between
these
residential
blocks with
the support
of Palilula
Municipality.
Now, this
area looks
ideal as a
place for
rest and
socializing,
especially
for the
older fellow
citizens.
Slavoljub
Savic, one
of those who
started this
action,
emphasizes
that these
activities
have for
their
objective to
increase
citizen
initiative
and higher
care degree
of every
individual
for his or
her space
for living.
`We gave the
initiative
for forming
the councils
in these
buildings
where it was
not
previously
done. We
want to
increase the
degree of
responsibility
of the
people
living here
and improve
life quality
in this

THOSE WHO
NEED IT MOST

One –shot
humanitarian
financial
help is
provided for
the family
of Nazmija
Misimovic –
family of
nine who all
live in 11,
`Mramorska`
street. It
was done
with the
activity of
Palilula
Municipality
authorities.
Milos
Stojkovic,
Municipal
councilor,
visited this
Roma
nationality
family to
donate:
beds,
mattress,
blankets,
bedding,
clothes and
shoes for
the youngest
members of
the family,
canned food,
hygiene
products.
`In this
time of
economic
crisis that
influences
most those
poorest from
our society,
this is not
one single
activity of
social
support to
the people
of Palilula.
Up to end of
this month,
we will
visit two
more
families who
take care of
children
(children
live with
the
families,

adopted) in

Adaptation
of green
surfaces in
residential
blocks` that
started in
Palilula in
the
beginning of
June this
year,
continues
this week in
Triglavska
street.
In the close
cooperation
with Public
Enterprise `Mediana`
the
out-freight
of the grass
from the
cleaned
locations in
the area of
Old Cemetery
is active
currently,
then in
inter-
residential
block area
in `Francuska`
and `Dusana
Popovica`
streets –
area below
the railway,
in `Vojvode
Gojka`
street
–behind `Angropromet`
building,
next to the
railway to
Palilula
railway stop
and in `Svetolika

FROM

 Because of
their
excellent
results the
members of
athlete club
`Zeleznicar`
Milka
Djordjevic,
Andrijana
Stojcic and
Marko
Jankovic
were all
invited by
the
president at
the
reception in
Palilula
Municipality.
Milka
Djordjevic
is younger
and older
junior
champion and
senior
recorder in
hammer
throwing,
her younger
friend
Andrijana
Stojcic is a
champion of
Serbia in
the category
of younger
juniors and
a winner of
silver medal
for older
juniors in
hammer
throwing.
Marko
Jankovic is
multiple
Serbian
champion in
sprint race
on 100
meters. In
his sport
career he
has won over
150 medals
and recently
graduated at
the Faculty
for sport
and physical
education,
Nis
University.
He expects
to find soon
an
appropriate
job.

Within the
project of
regulatory
reform
`Strengthening
of
competitiveness
on local
level`, that
is being
jointly
implemented
by
International
financial
cooperation
(IFC) –
group of
World Bank,
City of Nis
and five Nis
municipalities,
businessmen
and citizens
have been
called to
give their
comments and
recommendations
for the
improvement
of
administrative
procedures
that are
already
implemented
in city and
municipal
administrative
offices.
Palilula
Municipality
has taken
active part
in the
realization
of this
project.
Businessmen
and
citizens,
who have had
found
certain
problems in
the work
with city
and
municipal
administrative
departments,
can send
their
proposals
and ideas to

OLD CEMETERY
IN THE
PROJECT OF
ADAPTATION
15.07.2009.
 In next
three years,
whole
complex OLD
CEMETERY
below Gorica
will get
total new
sight
appearance.
With the
support of
the City of
Nis,
Palilula
Municipality
will
continue
with the
restoration
and
completion
of the works
at the east
side of old
Nis cemetery
and after
that they
will
continue
with the
restoration
of the
present west
gate
organization
and fencing
of this
area. From
the city
budget 3, 5
million
dinars will
be put aside
for the work
continuation
up to the
end of this
year– it was
emphasized
at the
meeting of
the
authorities
of Palilula
Municipality
with the
Mayor of
Nis,
organized
for the
promotion of
new project
of the
adaptation
of old
cemetery.
`Palilula is
one of first
city
municipalities
that has
started the
realization
of its own
ideas from
real project
that takes
into account
the current
economic
situation
and our

CITIZENS OF
PALILULA

In very
complex
social
situation,
marked with
economic
crisis, work
strikes,
unsuccessful
processes of
privatizations
and very
dynamic
parliamentary
activity,
the
authorities
of Palilula
Municipality
recently
decided to
introduce
their
citizens and
the public
with the
results of
one year
work and
present them
those
results
publicly and
over media.
After the
invitation
of the
president
Novakovic
and in the
spirit of
Aarhus
convention
on access to
information,
more than
hundred
citizens
came to this
event to the
public
discussion
in NKC (Nis
Cultural
Center).

Festival (Festival

manifestation

Popovic,

Serbian
actress, for
art director

Festival.

festival in

of Palilula
Municipality
– `Solving

residential
issues of
the people

Cekovic,
state
secretary in
the Ministry
of
administration
and local
self-government
visited the
Municipality
of Palilula.
Mrs. Cekovic
handed the
Decision on
financial
support for
these
purposes.
For the
coverage of
one year
rent for
flats for 15
families up
to the end
of this
year, that
do not have
at the
moment
solved their
housing
problems,
the Ministry
approved
financial
resources in
the amount
of 1,
686,000
dinars from
the
resources,
that are
realized by
state
lottery
games and
are used for
local self
government
financing.

BOOK IN THE
HONOR OF
ANDRE BAZIN
01.07.2009.
The most
significant
book
dedicated to
the film of
all time
``What is
film?` by
Andre Bazin,
after 42
years from
its first
edition will
appear in
Serbian
language and
at the
market owing
credits to
NKC and 3D
publishing
house from
Belgrade.
This
important
edition of
film art for
the 90th
anniversary
of birth and
50 years
from Andre
Bazin`s
death. The
support and
help of
Palilula
Municipality
also came.
This
Municipality
bought 50
book copies
and directed
them to
educational
purposes.
`We want to
give these
books to
libraries of
Nis
elementary
and high
schools` –
emphasized
president
Novakovic.
`The meaning
of this
double: to
provide our
talented
children to
have one
significant
work of art
that is
necessary
for entering
certain
faculties,
faculties
for dramatic
arts, as
well as to
direct
public
intention to
the needs
that the art
of film
should
become one
of the
subjects in
schools`.
